Settlers’ Day

Sunday, June 10 - 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Visit the 22 homes and buildings as they would have been in the pioneer days. Children can pet the farm animals, marvel at the marine models, listen to the story teller and Ham Radio operator and participate in the crafts in the Kimble House.
Explore the Village and examine the ANTIQUE and CLASSIC CARS & TRACTORS parked throughout.
Watch the RED COAT DRILL TEAM of Norwood District High School parade in the uniforms of British, Canadian Native and American troops from the War of 1812. This re-enactment group will take part in a variety of events related to this early 19th century conflict.
Enjoy the musical entertainment and artisans all day long. You can chat with wood carvers, a potter, a spinner, a wool felter, weavers, cruelle and Bargelo embroiderers, cross stitchers, basket weavers and a tatter.
Observe the trades of pioneer days. Visit the rope maker, the carpenter, the blacksmith on his forge, the canoe maker, the shoe maker, the sheep shearer, the cane maker, the chair caner, the spring pole lathe worker, the Twig Man and the trappers. Enjoy the baking of our OUTDOOR OVEN in front of the Duggan House.
Visit our historical displays of outboard motors, antique clocks and model trains.
Listen to our genealogists and historians from the Heritage & Archive Centre and the Victoria County Historical Society. Chat with our Empire Loyalists.
Picnic on hamburgers, peameal bacon, hot dogs, fries & drinks at our SNACK BAR.
